Directions to the Isle of Skye and Tidal Cottage

“Over the Sea to Skye”

You can take the award winning “Road to the Isles” from Fort William to Mallaig and take the ferry over the Sea to Skye. The ferry reaches Skye at Armadale and is a 30 min drive North via the A851 to Tidal Cottage. The ferry is operated by Caledonian MacBrayne and the ferry timetable can be found by clicking here.

“Over the Bridge to Skye”

The toll free Skye Bridge is only 6 miles from Tidal Cottage via the A87 North to Broadford.

“Let Sat Nav Decide”

If you are using Sat Nav please be aware that it might not take you to the Skye Bridge and go via the ferry at Mallaig. This may not be the best option if you arrive outwith ferry operating times. To avoid Sat Nav taking you to the ferry, initially set the Sat Nav to Kyle of Lochalsh and thereafter for Tidal Cottage at the address below.
